About Us

The Manatee Community Foundation is a creative, cost-effective and tax-efficient way for people to invest in the charitable causes they care about most. The Manatee Community Foundation has grown to over 100 donor funds and $21 million in assets. Over $5 million in grants and scholarships have been “given back” to the community since 1998. Eighteen non profit agencies in the community have placed their endowments under the “umbrella” of MCF.

MCF’s “named” donor funds ensure a source of permanent support for new and ongoing programs that address the pressing needs and opportunities in Manatee County. The original donors to the Manatee Community Foundation became our Founders and created the beginning of the permanent charitable endowment for the community through their Founders’ Funds.

We invite you to join our family of MCF donors by creating a permanent fund. Consider participating in MCF’s Community Investors’ Campaign or other programs to create charitable funds in the Manatee Community Foundation.

The Manatee Community Foundation is a philanthropic partner of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and legally organized as a Type I Supporting Organization. This arrangement has been most beneficial to the Manatee Community Foundation by increasing shared investment opportunities and by providing administrative support services.

As one of more that 700 locally controlled community foundations in the U.S. and Canada, MCF is in the fastest growing sector of American philanthropy. The Manatee Community Foundation is a member supporting organization of the Council on Foundations and a member of the Community Foundations of Florida.

The Board of Directors and the Staff of the Manatee Community Foundation are dedicated to assisting our donors in achieving their charitable goals and making a difference in our community.
